Anna Maria Island Trolley

Early spring is a wonderfully busy part of the year on Anna Maria Island. There are lots of grandparents, parents, and kids enjoying spring break at the beach. It is fun to see all that is going on - weekend festivals, restaurants, piers, and downtown busy with activity. Activities around the island are easily accessible to everyone, thanks to the Anna Maria Island Trolley. If you have been here before, you have probably noticed the trolley traveling down Gulf Drive or stopped by City Pier. But did you know this is a free service? Yes, it is absolutely FREE! And very reliable as well. It travels in a loop around the island stopping every 2-4 blocks from Anna Maria City Pier to Coquina Beach and back. You can catch the trolley every 20 minutes from 6am to 9pm and then every 30 minutes until 10:30pm at any of the stops 7 days a week. The air conditioning provides a welcomed break on hot days and comfortable seating provides rest from all the walking and biking you are sure to be doing while here. You can check the schedule online using this link….. http://www.rvafl.com/trolley/documents/AMITrolley.pdf. If you would like to venture off island without a car or bike, the Anna Maria Island Trolley has partnered with Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) and for 0.75 (sorry, this one is not completely free…) you can ride all the way to St Armand's Circle in Sarasota and back! More to come on St Armand's Circle, but to sum it up, there is hours of fun shopping and eating to be done there! For more information on this, go to The Chamber of Commerce website (http://www.annamariaislandchamber.org/VisitUs/SavetheTrolley.aspx). Don't pass this service up!
